Kickstarter campaign to fund the TRAK 2.0 nearing the end
TRAK – renowned makers of portable performance kayaks – are nearing the end of a 30-day Kickstarter campaign to fund the TRAK 2.0 deemed the Ultimate Touring Kayak. In a mere three hours, the project surpassed their funding goal and currently stands at more than $455k CAD in pledges.
TRAK surveyed the paddling community to learn what paddlers are looking for in a kayak and what they are hesitant to accept. The responses led the redesign – a significant 10 pounds lighter than the previous model with a bag system that is more than 10 inches shorter and adaptable into a backpack form. TRAK then put the prototype to the test in waters around the world.
The skin-on-frame design, with specially formulated expedition-grade polyurethane material (originally engineered for military use) combined with a rigid aluminum and carbon fibre frame makes the TRAK 2.0 simple and elegant yet tough and durable.
Check out the Kickstarter campaign and in the Late Summer issue of the Paddler, you’ll hear about their expedition in Baja.
